How will you rock the upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 color trends?
The warm weather is over, but that doesn’t mean you should put your fashion ideas to rest. Now is the time that all of next season’s trends come out, and we want to ensure you’re staying on top of it.
After watching New York Fashion Week, we uncovered the top Spring/Summer 2019 color trends we saw on the runway. With the help of Pantone, we present the top 2019 color trends to you!
Pantone’s Fashion Color Trend Report
Each season, the team at the Pantone Color Institute creates the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report, which highlights the top colors that fashion designers show at NYFW. The colors shown on the catwalk are key indicators of what we can expect to show up in all areas of design – including your own! These are all important for collections in the upcoming season, with both neutrals and joyful hues.
Spring/Summer 2019 is all about empowering, uplifting, and confident colors. They’re super playful and creative, which allows designers to create unique combinations. Below you can find the top vibrant shades that took over the runway.
PANTONE 16-1546: Living Coral
Though there were many bright shades of pink during NYFW, coral was one of the more popular. The golden undertone of Living Coral gives the shade a softer edge, while still being animating and friendly. Designers Marc Jacobs, Sies Marjan, and many others mastered the use of this color – as you can, too!
PANTONE 13-0850: Aspen Gold
If this color doesn’t brighten your day, then I don’t know what will!. Aspen gold is a sunny shade, stimulating feelings of good cheer and joy. This yellow shade is seasonally appropriate for Spring/Summer 2019, and many designers saw this. It appeared on dozens of runways – these include Brandon Maxwell, Self-Portrait, Oscar de la Renta, Karen Walker, Batsheva, Carolina Herrera, Boss, Escada, and many more. You’ll want this bold and cheery shade in your wardrobe as well!
PANTONE 19-4150: Princess Blue
When looking at designers Prabal Gurung, Escada, Kate Spade, we see they snuck in a royal blue to their designs. Still a vibrant shade, Princess Blue made the cut into the 2019 color trends. Pantone describes it as a “majestic royal blue hue that glistens and gleams.” As you can see, you can create a whole garment in Princess Blue, or just certain aspects such as a jacket, pants, or sweater. This cool shade definitely separates and complements the other warmer colors!
PANTONE 17-1564: Fiesta
The party certainly starts when you bring in this color! Described as a festive orange-red, Fiesta radiates energy, passion and excitement. Fashion designers such as ADEAM, Sies Marjan, Jeremy Scott, Hellessy, and Prabal Gurung loved using this color in their collection. This shade complements almost every skin color, while being just as bold as wearing regular red or orange.
